In Morocco, some beauty secrets are passed down from mother to daughter, held like a treasure in the palm of the hand: a drop of oil, a handful of seeds, the patience of the sun.
BYOU was born of this return to the source.
Chapter I
It all began with a weariness many will recognise. Thinning hair, skin that felt tight, and a bathroom full of bottles making ever bigger promises. Chemical formulas that, instead of soothing, only did a little more damage.
Then one question became impossible to ignore: what if the answer had been there all along? In Morocco, black seed, argan and prickly pear have been part of beauty rituals for centuries. And yet there was no black seed oil shampoo to be found, nor even a black seed deodorant.
In 2024, BYOU was born of that gap, with one promise: to make these treasures accessible, in products worthy of the finest beauty houses.
Our name
BYOU is pronounced “Bee-You”. It whispers “be yourself”: a beauty that is truly yours, with no artifice. And it carries within it what has guided us from the very first day: a return to natural beauty.
